ANCIENT PEACH GARDEN IN MOC CHAU

Sugarcane sub-area, Nong Truong town, Moc Chau, Son La

Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, from Hai Phong, came to Moc Chau to start a business and has been growing ancient peach trees for nearly 20 years now. Moc Chau's climate and soil are very suitable for wild peach trees to grow. Temperature differences between day and night and fog in winter help peach tree trunks become rough, mossy, and ancient. In particular, peach blossoms bloom large and have very thick petals, which are very popular with customers downstream.
The ancient peach garden of Mr. Nguyen Van Duc's family, in the Sugarcane sub-area, Nong Truong Moc Chau town, has an area of nearly 1 hectare with over 1,000 ancient peach trees, faded peach trees and That Thon peach trees to serve the needs of divers. Tet holiday. 2-3 months before Tet, peach growers must carefully take care of them, prune roots, graft stems, shape and replace each tree and treat the soil so that the flowers can bloom right on Lunar New Year. There are many shaggy peach trees that are decades old.
Every time around the Lunar New Year, Mr. Duc transports peaches to Hanoi and the Northern provinces for rent, and after the full moon of the first lunar month, he transports them back to Moc Chau to take care of them. On average, each Lunar New Year, families rent out 300 to 500 trees with prices ranging from 3-20 million VND.
Mr. Duc's family's peaches mainly serve regular customers. Customers who have been playing peaches for many years know the quality and introduce them to each other. In the coming time, we will also promote more on platforms and electronic sales sites to let more customers know about it. Thanks to his hard work and creativity, Mr. Nguyen Van Duc not only enriched his family but also created more job opportunities and economic development for local farmers; contributing to improving economic efficiency in agricultural production on the Moc Chau plateau.
